In the first week of the reporting period the spacecraft was monitored only with a single New Norcia pass, during which a HGA pattern calibration test was carried out. In the second week all New Norcia passes (except for one) and one DSN pass were taken, to allow the start of the preparatory activities for the upcoming Commissioning Phase part 2, which is due to start on 6 September. |

| No. 25 - LGA Threshold Test Successful |

In the reporting period the spacecraft was monitored weekly, mainly to dump the telemetry stored on-board. During the last weekly pass, the LGA threshold test first attempted on 1 June 2004 was repeated successfully (see report No. 15). |

Report for week 30 July to 6 August 2004
In the reporting period the spacecraft was monitored daily (with the exception of two passes) to complete the upload and verification of version 7 of the on-board software. Following the monitoring of the previous week the go ahead for finalization of v7 installation was given on 2 August. From now on the Rosetta spacecraft will be fully controlled via the new software. |

| Report for week 16 to 23 July 2004
In the reporting period the uplink and activation of the new avionics on-board software (version 7) has been carried out, probably the most critical operation since launch. The work of this week successfully concluded a four-months period of intense system testing at ESOC, which had followed the development and test activities carried out at Industry since autumn 2003. |

Report for week 4 to 11 June
The first part of the Rosetta Commissioning Phase was successfully completed in the reporting period. The Cruise 1 Phase formally started on 7 June 2004 and will last until the start of the second and last commissioning slot in September/October 2004. The last payload activities in this phase, the repetition of OSIRIS measurements (slot 2b), were successfully completed. |

| No. 15 - Moving towards Cruise Phase |
| Report for week 28 May to 4 June
The reporting period covered part of the transition from the payload commissioning activities to the start of the Cruise 1 phase, which will take place next week. The ALICE PAT test was finally and, after two cancellations due to different reasons in the past weeks, successfully carried out. The first pass of the extra slot requested by OSIRIS to repeat some of the measurements taken in slot 2 was also successfully carried out. |

| No. 14 - Second ROSINA Commissioning Slot |
| Report for week 21 to 28 May 2004 Payload commissioning activities continued in the reporting period, with the execution of the second ROSINA commissioning slot. The DFMS and RTOF instruments were tested, with high voltage operations and the final successful acquisition of spectra from DFMS. RTOF commissioning will be completed in the autumn commissioning slot as planned. SREM was also activated for 24 hours to check stability of the instrument temperature. |

| No. 12 - Latest Rosetta Commissioning Activities |
Report for week 7 to 14 May 2004 The most important activity in the reporting period was the execution of the first deep-space manoeuvre on 10 May. This was the most critical spacecraft activity executed since LEOP, involving a change in velocity (delta-V) of 152.8 ms-1, achieved through a continuous burn of the four on-board axial thrusters for a duration of about 3.5 hours. The manoeuvre was executed successfully and the performance of the spacecraft was excellent, with an estimated inaccuracy of about 0.05%. |

Report for week 30 April to 7 May
Payload commissioning activities continued in the reporting period. For the first time a scientific activity was executed: the observation of comet Linear. Four remote sensing instruments, MIRO, ALICE, VIRTIS and OSIRIS took measurements and images during this special pointing operation. |

Payload commissioning activities continued in the reporting period. For the first time the spacecraft was rotated such that the payload could point towards the Earth. This gave MIRO and VIRTIS the opportunity to take calibration measurements using the Earth as a target. |

Payload commissioning activities continued in the reporting period. The main activity was the second commissioning slot of the Lander, mainly dedicated to Lander payload operations. All activities were successfully completed, with the exception of a few procedures that will have to be repeated in Lander slot 3 after off-line analysis of the available results. |
