Successful Mars Swingby

25 Feb 2007

At 02:57 UT 25 February, mission controllers at ESOC, ESA's Space Operations Centre in Germany, confirmed Rosetta's successful swingby of Mars.

Prior to the flyby the main Rosetta spacecraft was able to capture a series of images of Mars using the OSIRIS instrument.  These images reveal atmospheric structures in the polar regions.
